You say that it is true that there is no overturning of the world compared to the previous game. But shouldn’t the sequel have been enhanced and improved on the basis of the previous one? I originally thought that the UI of the 4th generation had been simple enough single. I didn’t expect that the UI of this generation is not going forward but backward, with the word ugly to describe it is not too much. The UI does not affect the overall experience of the game, but as an exclusive game in 2022, the UI as a whole looks poor to say the least.

The last thing is the puzzle system of this game. The original puzzle was added to serve as a spice. Let the player avoid the high-density battle all the time. But because of the exponential increase in the amount of content this time, the proportion of the puzzle link is also more than the previous work. In addition to the newly added combination puzzle, it also makes the steps to solve the puzzle more tedious. The means of solving the puzzle is still relatively single, often only one solution, and most of the solutions are repetitive, so you will naturally feel bored after playing more. And the production team also foresaw this situation in advance. So whether it is in the game settings to allow players to adjust the difficulty, such as lengthening the bell ringing time. Or NPC teammates after a while will be directly prompted. But this all makes the puzzle system become more boring and seem more dispensable.

Of course, in addition to the above-mentioned points. The plot of this work is also relatively slow to unfold, literary drama than the previous work becomes more, mainly around the theme of family. Whether it’s the emotions between Qui-Gon and Atreus father and son, or the two dwarf brothers, Freya and her dead son. Or Odin and his extended family. In addition the big boss battle of this work, but also less than expected to come. As a finished work, “God of War: Twilight of the Gods” should have been more perfect in all aspects. But I don’t know if it’s because of the schedule problem, the final ending is also slightly rushed.

Admittedly, I’ve complained about many things I don’t like about God of War Twilight of the Gods. But as a first-party exclusive game, Santa Monica still carries the face of Sony’s first-party studio. Excellent graphics, more sophisticated one-shot performance, coupled with the unbelievably fast combat.
