Quentin Tarantino’s films are known for their masterfully directed bloody scenes, as well as his passion for vehicles and women’s legs. The latter is what we chose to discuss, since Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, which was just released, features the rare Cadillac DeVille from 1966.
Here are 7 of the most iconic cars in Quentin Tarantino’s movies. They have been as recognizable as his style.
1972 Pontiac Lemans (Reservoir Dogs, 1992)
Start with Tarantino’s first film, R eservoir dogs. The hallmark of this movie is Pontiac Lemans Apple Red. The story goes that Mr. Orange, played by Tim Roth, rides the car and bleeds into its snow-white interior.
Michael Madsen’s character drives a stylish 1966 Cadillac DeVille. Michael loved the Cadillac so much, that it was moved to his garage after the filming finished. The DeVille that we will see in once Upon a Time In Hollywood, is the same car.
1975 Mercedes-Benz R107 (Jackie Brown, 1997)
In 1997, the film version of Rum Punchwas re-released under the title Jackie Brown. Samuel L. Jackson played the role of Ordell, the weapons dealer, and according to plot, he owns a Mercedes-Benz R107 in black.
After the premier, the cabriolet model sold even more quickly. Rental stores have become more popular with cabriolets. It is now fashionable to rent a convertible vehicle from the closest hiring service, such as Renty or Driving Around. This trend was clearly welcomed by rental shops.
1964 Chevrolet Chevy Malibu (Pulp Fiction, 1994)
Tarantino also owns the cherry-colored Chevy malibu, which he bought in 1992 following the release of Reservoir Dogs.
It has a unique history. The car was taken immediately after Pulp Fiction and returned 19 years later to Quentin. The owner of the car didn’t even know that it was stolen.
1978 Fleetwood Pace Arrow
It is not a very attractive trailer, but the American spirit is there. The main characters in the video travelled to Mexico Hell on this motorhome to see the seductress Salma.
1997 Chevrolet C-2500 Crew Cab Silverado (Kill Bill: Part One, 2003)
Beatrix (Uma Thuman) wins the battle for the Chevrolet Crew Cab Silverado truck in a pretentiously tasteless manner. She took Buck’s keys and killed him. Now she is looking to get revenge.
1971 Dodge Challenger (Death Proof, 2007)
Tarantino considers that this is not his best film, but the car really means a lot to him. Dodge was immortal, even though they killed the car on set. In 2017, it sold for $13,300 at an eBay auction.
Buyers were not deterred by dents, scratches and high mileage.
1996 Cadillac DeVille Once Upon a Time In Hollywood (2019)
It’s almost a magic talisman. Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth, ( One Upon a Time In Hollywood), drives the Cadillac DeVille through sunny streets. And in Reservoir Dogs Mr. Blonde is played by Michael Madsen, the owner of this rare car.
The Cadillac, in order to fulfill a “new role”, was pulled out of its garage and well-restored. Its color had been changed, as were the interior fabrics.
