The Velvet Underground did not sell many albums, but every person who purchased one started their own band. The quote is attributed to Lou Reed, the founder of the band and Brian Eno, a prominent music producer. It’s safe for me to say that many people bought a Prince album and then started playing music.
Prince was a genius who did not have to wait until after his death for anyone else to discover it. He sold many records.
His death shocked and hurt those who loved him. This includes people like myself who cannot play any note on an instrument.
The story of Starchild is told by. Starchild was a Minneapolis-based band founded by a young, ambitious black woman who discovered her musical voice after attending a Prince concert. Prince appears in more detail than just a brief cameo, and he chooses her to be his protege. He also tests her commitment by offering her the chance to become a knock-off of Revolution.
Minneapolis also stars in this story, because any Prince tale would be incomplete without a look at the city that he grew up with.
This is a story of hard work, talent, and integrity. It pains me, but I have to say how dull and stupid it is.
The writing and artwork appear to be the work of an imaginative 13-year old Prince fan, who’s seen some after-school specials. He wants to express himself.
This book is a shame because it has a good heart and its creators have done exemplary work. But that’s not enough.
Cliches are everywhere – parents dying young, visiting cemeteries in the rain and a white rocker wearing long blonde hair, who smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, etc.
Since it’s difficult to portray music in a graphic novel, the writer has to take on the burden.
Unfortunately, the album fails. The lead singer Theresa gives the band the order to “do better, more.” She also says the following things without a hint of a smile:
The mothership needs us all or it will not fly.Starchild will not flee from a battle.
Violet, not everyone is interested in being a butterfly. When you are writing the story, there is a lot to consider. . Make it About the Music.”
This book was something I really wanted to enjoy. Maybe its target audience includes children interested in American music, race relations or other topics.Beyond that, it’s hard to imagine anyone cares if the mothership will fly.
